Abbot Seraphim, in the world Kotelnikov Timur Viktorovich, Was born 10 October 1983 of the year in Kursk. AT 1992 he was baptized in the Church of All Saints of the city of Kursk with the name Timothy.
AT 1990 year he went to the first grade of secondary school No. 33 in the city of Kursk, in which he studied until 1997 of the year. From June 1997 on August 1998 Mr. was in obedience in the monastery of the Root Desert. He received his complete secondary education in 2001 year, after graduating from secondary school No. 12. Kursk.
AT 2001 Year he entered the pastoral department of the Kursk Orthodox Theological Seminary, with 2004 by 2005 a year of sickness on sabbatical, he graduated from the seminary in 2007 year.
25 June 2008 years with the blessing of His Eminence Herman, Archbishop of Kursk and Rylsk, abbot of the monastery of Korennaya pustyn abbot Benjamin (Korolev) was tonsured in a robe with the name Seraphim in honor of the prp. Seraphim of Sarov (namesake day – 1 August Nov. Art.).
13 July 2008 of the Year by His Eminence Herman, Archbishop of Kursk and Rylsk, in Znamensky Cathedral. Kurska was ordained a hierodeacon to the monastery of The Root Desert, where he was sent to the brethren with the assignment of obedience to the charterer.
8 January 2010 the year at the celebration of the Divine Liturgy by His Eminence Herman, Archbishop of Kursk and Rylsk, in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary The Root Desert was ordained a hieromonk and appointed sacristy of the monastery.
21 September 2011 year on the patronal feast of the monastery was awarded the right to wear a loincloth.
29 August 2012 By the decree of His Eminence Metropolitan Herman of Kursk and Rylsk, he was appointed Acting Vicar of the Kursk Root Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Male Desert.
21 September 2012 of the year awarded the right to wear a pectoral cross.
14 August 2013 of the year by the Archimandrite of the monastery, Metropolitan Herman of Kursk and Rylsk, on the basis of the decision of the Holy Synod, was elevated to the rank of hegumen.
23 December 2019 The Diocesan Assembly appointed a judge of the Diocesan Court of the Kursk Region for a period of three years.
AT 2020 year, to the feast of Holy Easter, was awarded the right to wear a Mace.
