How to Write a Memorial Note
- All names are written clearly and legibly in the genitive case (whom?) without patronymic and surname, without ranks, Posts, Professions, family ties.
- The name is written in the full church form. For example:
Egor (Worldly) - George (in baptism); Julia – Julia; Svetlana – Fotinia, Fotina; Ivan – John; Semen – Semion; Sergey – Sergiy; Tatiana – Tatiana; Ilya – Elijah; Alexey – Alexy; Stepan – Stefan.
- The names of unbaptized people are not written, Gentiles, Suicide, deaths from drunkenness and drugs, killed in robbery, rejecting God and the Church, who fell away from Orthodoxy into schisms, heresies and sects, excommunicated, engaged in witchcraft, Magic, Occult, psychics, etc.. n.
