28 August 2022 Assumption of the Mother of God

On the twelfth feast of the Assumption of the Mother of God, festive divine services were performed at the Root Hermitage Monastery.

the day before, 27 numbers, an all-night vigil was held. At the polyeleos, the rite of carrying the Holy Shroud from the Holy Altar to the center of the temple was performed.. After which the Polyeleos was performed. At the end of the polyeleos, clergy and all those praying in the temple, venerated the Holy Shroud and were anointed with consecrated oil.

On the very day of the Feast, before Divine Liturgy, a prayer service was performed with an akathist to the Assumption of the Mother of God, times, Divine Liturgy. At the Divine Liturgy, all the pilgrims present in the temple began to partake of the Holy Life-Giving Sacraments of Christ.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, a glorification was performed with a prayer to the feast. After that, hegumen Seraphim delivered a sermon on the theme of the feast of the Assumption of the Mother of God.
