Awarding Metropolitan Herman of Kursk and Rylsk

The Head of the Metropolis of Kursk was awarded a high ecclesiastical award in recognition of his diligent archpastoral labors and in connection with the 30th anniversary of his episcopal consecration.

18 July 2023 of the year, on the feast of the discovery of the venerable relics of St. Sergius, Abbot of Radonezh, at the end of the Divine Liturgy on the Cathedral Square of the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia presented church decorations to the bishops and clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Throne Room of the Patriarchal Chambers of the Lavra.

The award ceremony was attended by Metropolitan Juvenal (Poyarkov) and permanent members of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church – Head of the Central Asian Metropolitan District, Metropolitan Vincent of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, Metropolitan Varsonofy of St. Petersburg and Ladoga, Patriarchal Vicar of the Moscow Metropolis, Metropolitan Pavel of Krutitsa and Kolomna, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Metropolitan Dionysius of the Resurrection, Administrator of the Moscow Patriarchate;, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations.

By the decree of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, His Eminence the Archpastors, who celebrated memorable dates and worked especially for the good of the Holy Church, were awarded high church awards.

In recognition of his diligent archpastoral labors and in connection with the 30th anniversary of his episcopal consecration, Metropolitan Herman of Kursk and Rylsk was awarded the Order of the Blessed Prince Daniel of Moscow, II degree.

In conclusion, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill addressed the awardees: “I cordially congratulate you all, Especially the awardees, Happy Holidays and Awards.
