Feast of the Icon of the Mother of God "Life-giving Spring" in the Root Hermitage
Every year on Friday of Bright Week, the Orthodox Church honors the miraculous icon of the Most Holy Theotokos "The Life-Giving Spring". On this day in history, 21 April 2023 of the year, Metropolitan Herman of Kursk and Rila celebrates Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral Church of the Kursk Root Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos of the Desert.
His Eminence was assisted by the abbot of the monastery, Abbot Seraphim (Kotelnikov), Dean of the Zolotukhinsky Church District, Archpriest Peter Yurochko, Dean of the Ponyrovsky Church District, Archpriest Vladimir Mashlyakevich, as well as the clergy of the monastery and the Zolotukhinsky district.
For their diligent service to the Church of Christ on the feast of Holy Pascha, the clergy of the diocese were awarded church awards:

Hierodeacon Averky (Lisyutin), monk of the monastery of the Kursk Root of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary male hermitage;
Hierodeacon Lazarus (Matrenin), monk of the monastery of the Kursk Root of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary male hermitage.
At the end of the Liturgy, the archpastor performed a water-blessing moleben and led a procession around the church.
